JOHN WILLIAMS
Malad - John Oliver Williams, 83, a lifelong resident of Malad, died Saturday at the Brigham City, Utah, rest home after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 22, 1880 at Cherrycreek in Oneida County, the son of John T. and Hephsibah John Williams. He was reared and educated at Malad, and worked as a farmer and rancher in the area.
He married Eva Jardine on Jan. 14, 1901 at Malad. She died in 1955.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rulon (Catherine) Burton, Pocatello; Mrs. Lester (Evelyn) Hartvigsen, Malad; four sons, Homer D. Williams, Hailey; Jack L. Williams, serving with the armed forces in Korea; James J. Williams, Fort Collins, Colo.; and Robert B. Williams, Logan, Utah; one sister, Mrs. Jay Gibson, Beaverton, Ore.; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Malad Second Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop May King officiating. Friends may call at the Benson funeral home in Malad from 5-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday prior to the services.
Burial will be at Malad City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Benson Funeral Home.
