CHESTER – Olivene Jolly Davis, 89, of 1025 Firetower Rd., died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at Chester County Hospital.
Born on Aug. 30, 1913, in Cherokee County, N.C., she was the widow of Adam Davis and daughter of the late Crawford Jolly and the late Marie Littlejohn Jolly. She was a homemaker and member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She attended Cherokee County schools.
Surviving are four sons, C.L. "Bud" Davis of Holden Beach, N.C., Charles Adam Davis of Chester, Dean Davis of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Ned Davis of Chester; three daughters, Laura D. Austin, Barbara D. Ledford, both of Chester, and Stella D. Hutchins of Gastonia, N.C.; a sister, Era Mae Jolly Earl of Gaffney; a brother, Floyd Jolly of Gaffney; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m.. at First Freewill Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. James Sanders. Burial was in Chester Memorial Gardens.
