Obituary, Kitchener-Waterloo Record LEIS Mrs. Clarence (Alice) -- Peacefully on Friday, August 8, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital, in Kitchener, Alice Elizabeth Leis of Baden and formerly of Kingwood. Born in West Branch, Michigan, 74 years ago.
Daughter of the late Mose Gerber and the late Rachel Jantzi. Alice was a faithful member of Faith Mennonite Church, where she was active as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of the sewing circle.Loving wife of Clarence Leis of Baden, whom she married October 18, 1944. Dear mother of Elaine and her husband Earl Leis of RR 1, Wellesley, Marilyn and her husband James Cressman of RR 1, Wellesley. Glenn and his wife Audrey Leis of RR 2. Wellesley, Galen and his wife Fern Leis of RR 1, Tavistock, Kevin and his wife Delores Leis of Brunner. Lovingly remembered by 14 grandchildren; beloved sister of Dorothy and her husband Willia Bender of New Hamburg, Donald and his wife Doreen Gerber of Brunner, Wesley and his wife Eleanor Gerber of RR 3, Harriston, Morris and his wife Joyce Gerber of Milverton.Predeceased by three sisters, Marion Schwartzentruber, Kathleen Gerber, Esther Gerber and by a brother-in-law, Irvin Schwartzentruber; also her father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Elizabeth Leis.Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St. W.,in Wellesley, today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. At noon on Thursday removal will be made to the Maple View Mennonite Church for service at 2 p.m., Pastor Roger Zehr will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maple View Mennonite Cemetery.
