His first wife, Mrs. Eva R (Mayo) Barton died in 1956. At the time of his death, he left his widow, Mrs. Alberta R (LaPointe) Barton; a son, Clayton T Barton, who is a teacher living in Hamden, Conn; and also eight grandchildren.
