She was born Sept. 17, 1911, in Milford. She moved to Shasta County in 1994 from Susanville, where she had been a homemaker.
Deesse was superintendent of Sunday School at Standish Bible Church in Standish for 25 years. She was active in Standish 4-H for many years.
She is survived by: her husband, John Theodore; her daughter, Mary Fletcher, of Fall River Mills, and Ann Weir, of Placerville; her brother, retired Colonel Neil Wemple, of Tucson, Ariz.; her sisters, Marguerite Rypkema, of Paradise, and Olga Burroughs, of Sacramento; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 23 at Walton's Colonial Mortuary, Susanville, with Pastor Calvin Godman of Gospel Tabernacle presiding. A visitation was held before the service. Burial was in the Janesville Cemetery.
