Stephen was killed on Paxson Bridge near Seeley Lake. He was playing on the bridge with his 9-year-old sister when he darted out into the middle of the bridge into the path of an automobile.
His family was visiting relatives in the Seeley Lake area at the time of his death. He was survived by his parents, sister, and six brothers, all of Toledo, and a grandmother in Missoula. His body was sent to Spoken for cremation.
