Henry Bascome Ward was the son of James Alexander Lacy Ward and Rebecca Jane Baker. He married Allie J. Smith on May 17, 1905 at the age of 22 years. They were the parents of Inez Naomi Ward (spouse, Joseph Ottis Spikes); Florence Henrietta Ward (spouse, Roy S. Worthy); Martha Rebecka Ward (spouse, Avery T. Williams); Birdie Estelle Ward (spouse, Roy Eugene Kiser); Elizabeth Corinne Ward (spouses: Harry F. Suter, Joseph E. Thompson, and Unknown Smith). Henry made his living as a farmer and died at the age of 88 at the Holiday Lodge Nursing Home in Hamlin, Jones Co., Texas.
