Bert Judson Sitton, Jr. was the son of Bert Judson Sitton & Bettie Emma McCrary. He was a 1940 graduate of Hendersonville HS. Bert served three years in the US Army during WWII. After the war, he married Dorothy Mae Justus 5 September 1948 in Hendersonville, Henderson Co., NC. Bert and Dorothy had two children; Barbara Gayle Sitton who married Jud Etherton, & John Gregory Sitton, three grandchildren; Julie Etherton who married Jeff Parker, Dottie Etherton who married Chad Morgan, and Myra Etherton who married Kip McDonough; four great grandchildren; Will & Landon Morgan, Sarah & Brian Parker.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Bert worked on his family's history for more than forty years. He was a charter member of the Henderson County Genealogical and Historical Society where he volunteered on Tuesdays for many years. Not only did Bert donate his time to the Society, he donated a computer with all of his family history loaded on it. He delighted in helping others with their family history. Bert worked hard to make certain his ancestors who were buried in this cemetery were properly marked. Bert will be missed by many friends and family. It is very appropriate for Bert to be buried in his beloved family cemetery.
