Our loving mother, Maxine Walker Peterson, age 78, died June 24, 1996 at her home of natural causes.

Born January 20, 1918 in Lindon, Utah to Robert and Mae Richards Walker. She married Dan W. Peterson January 12, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 19, 1994.

She attended Lindon Elementary and Pleasant Grove High School where she was active in student government, speech, and physical education activities. As a devout member of the LDS Church, she served in leadership positions in Junior Sunday School, Young Women, Relief Society, and as a teacher in all auxiliaries. She served, with her husband, in the International Mission of the LDS Church in Nairobi, Kenya in 1983-84.

As a devoted mother, spent most of her time in her home taking care of her family and husband, and only on rare occasions did she work outside of her home.

She supported her husband as a gracious hostess in many leadership callings. When her family was raised she spent several years as a Pink Lady at American Fork Hospital.

Survived by four children: Brent D. (Arlene) Peterson, Orem; M. Van (Lynn) Peterson, Houston, Texas; Ann (Robert Scott - "Toby") Adamson, Highland; Ada (Robert) Eckles, American Fork. 19 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Jesse (Elaine) Walker, Pleasant Grove; Don Walker, Provo; Louise (Dale) Deveraux, American Fork; Maralyn Holman, Orem.

Funeral Services will be Friday, 11 a.m. in the American Fork 8th Ward, 300 North 100 East. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
