Excerpt--W. H. Glendening died suddenly Wednesday after noon Oct. 30, 1895. He lived on the east end of Grafton and had only been ill for a few days, and his death was very unexpected by his family. He was born in this county March 13, 1839, but was raised cheifly in Preston County, returning to Taylor County after he had grown to manhood. He married Lydia J. Madsker on Oct. 14, 1858, and to them were born three children. His children were W. D. Glendening, now residing in Huntington, Mrs. Della Shaw and Otto Glendening, all grown and married. Mr. Glendening had worked for the B&O railroad in the shops for 35 years. He has been a member of the Grafton Lodge No. 31 I.O.O.F. for 22 years.
