Alice Anne Wisner

Alice Slupska Wisner was born on July 31, 1912 in Chicago, Il to immigrant parents, Joseph and Helena Slupski. She died peacefully in her sleep on November 16, 2008, at her daughter Peggys home in Lake Livingston, Texas.

Alice was in the first graduating class, 1928, from Resurrection Academy in Chicago and attended two years of college at DePaul University in Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, James Ira Wisner, her second daughter, Mary Anne McDermott Ferencz, and her brother Chester Adezsko. Alice is survived by her sister, Sonia Walter Nave of Hollister, MO, four daughters, Sandra Diane Acosta of Big Bear Lake, CA, Sharon John Nelsen of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Peggy George Huson of Lake Livingston, TX, Rosemary Edward Hagerott of Sierra Madre, CA, 24 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Alices longtime parish St. Marys, 1160 S. Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025, or to the outreach to the poor at her former Los Angeles parish, St. Augustines Church, 3832 Jasmine Ave., Culver City, CA 90232, or the Alzheimers Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
