The Arensmeiers were original members of an Evangelical congregation in Grand Pass, Missouri. The group, consisting of a pastor and seven families organized in 1903 to form Evangelical Lucas Church. All services were conducted in German throughout Philipp's lifetime. He died on Dec. 17, 1922, and was buried in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Grand Pass, Missouri.

Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery, where Friedrich is buried is also where Phil and Louisa's daughter Marie is buried. Phil's in-laws Friedrich "Frederick" and Fredericka are also buried there.
