A 10-day illness of pneumonia proved fatal today to Katie (Birch), wife of D. Lorah Mauger, retired Reading Company district passenger agent, at her home, 43 North Fourth Street. She was 74. Born in this city, she was a daughter of the late Charles S. and Sarah (Kissinger) Birch. Her father was the builder of the American House, which he operated for many years.
Mrs. Mauger took an active interest in affairs of Second Reformed Church, of which she was a member. Surviving are her husband, a brother, Robert S. Birch; a nephew, Robert H., and two nieces, Elizabeth W. and Margaret Birch, all of the city.
Funeral, Monday at 2 p.m. from the home, the Rev. Elmer L. Coblentz officiating. Interment in Charles Evans Cemetery, in charge of the Miller funeral home.
