Charles Ball

Nic Metzen, Joseph Metzen, William Metzen and Mrs. P.H. Furth retirned from Minneapolis where they attended the funeral of their brother-in-law, Charles Ball of Livingston, Montana.

Mr. Ball died at a hospital in Seattle, Wash. following on operation which was performed upon him for stomach trouble. The deceased had not been in the best of health for some time and accompanied by his wife started for San Diego, Cal., where he expected to spend the winter. At Seattle his condition became so serious that it was necessary to take him to a hospital for an operation.

The deceased was born in Fremont, Ohio, October 11, 1870 and was therefore only 40 years old when he died. He was married to Catherine Metzen, January 31, 1905,and ever since their marriage the family has resided in Livingston where the deceased conducted a grocery store.

The remains were brought to Minneapolis where after services in the Lakewood chapel they were placed in the vault of the Lakewood cemetery. Others who attended the funeral were Mrs. John Furth and Miss Lillian Furth of Chicago and Mrs. Fred Ftapp of Livingston. Mrs. Ball and Mrs. Furth came to New Ulm for a brief visit and will go from here to Chicago.
