Lina Housel Rites Held Saturday
Aged Evart Woman Spent Nearly Entire Life in Community
Lina Eloda Housel was born May 3, 1874 to Herbert and Delilah Austin in Pennsylvania and died at the Reed City Hospital, July 3, 1963 at the age of 89 years.
She was united in marriage to Ray Head on May 23, 1891 in Mecosta County. To this union were born 10 children, two of whom preceded her in death. Mr. Head died in March of 1938.
On February 5, 1941 she was married to Charles V. Housel at Alma. He also preceded her in death in 1943.
Except for about 2 1/2 years she spent in Virginia and New York she has been a resident of Michigan since she was seven years old, most of that time in and around Evart.
Funeral services were held at the Corey Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, July 6, with Dr. J. W. Hoverter officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Surviving are: five daughters and three sons, Mrs. Myrtle Linsday of Phoenix AZ, Mrs. Grace Thomas of Harrison, Mrs. Gladys Bieri of Evart, Mrs. Beatrice Axtell of Storm Lake, IA, Mrs. Mildred Brackett of Evart, Henry Head of Tempe AZ, Ralph Head of South Lyon, and Elden Head of Evart; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Lindsay of St. Clair Shores
