Sarah Isabelle Burkhart was born on May 1, 1857, in Grandview, Spencer County, Indiana, died on June 14, 1927, in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, at age 70, and was buried in Grandview Cemetery, Spencer County, Indiana, on June 16, 1927.

William's parents were Doshia Kellams and Bartlett Tharp. Isabelle's parents were Mary Jane Murray and Charles Burkhart.

According to the 1880, 1900, and 1910 United States Federal Census records, birth records, and death records, Belle and William B. had nine children. Their children were Frances, born in 1873; Luella, born on February 27, 1876; Julia, born in Nov 1877; Lafayette, born in Jan 1880; William Bloomer, born on May 1, 1884; an unknown male, born on March 1, 1885; Paul Wallace and Ellis, born on November 6, 1888; and Emma G, born on May 2, 1891.

After William died, Wilson Coots McIntyre, his grandson, went to Grandview to help his Grandmother Thorpe with the general store. It was there he brought his bride, Cordelia Louise Bray McIntyre, on her wedding day. After they were married on March 16, 1913, in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, Cordelia and Wilson left for Grandview, Indiana. Cordelia wrote in Wilson's Bible, "We lived with his Grandmother on Main Street next door to city hall. He had the sweetest Grandma. She taught me to cook & sew & was so lovely to us both. That was a happy year & our son Thorpe was born there & Grandma was so proud of Wilson. She passed away several years ago & I miss her."
