Marvin D. McInteer, 78, of Greensburg died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home at Westport with John Mattern officiating. Calling will be from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Rockcreek Cemetery.

Survivors include daughters, Debbie (Russell) McFarland of Greensburg and Peggy McInteer of Indianapolis; a half-sister, Jeanie McInteer of Columbia, Ky.; brothers, Elvin, Arvin and James McInteer, all of Columbia, Ky.; and five grandchildren.

Mr. McInteer was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathleen Holt McInteer; and a daughter, Elizabeth Dwiggins.

Marvin Denver McInteer, 78, of Greensburg died at 11:47 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.

Funeral service was held Wednesday at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor John Mattern officiating. Burial was Rockcreek Cemetery.

Mr. McInteer had been a Westport resident since 1977 after moving there from Shelby County. He retired from Amos and Thompson Company in Edinburgh after 16 years of service. He was a member of the Westport Christian Church.

Born May 18, 1931, in Columbia, Ky., he was the son of Wesley and Idna McInteer. He married Mary Kathleen Holt in Edinburgh on Oct. 14, 1957. She preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 1999.

He is survived by two daughters, Debbie McFarland of Greenburg and Peggy McInteer of Indianapolis; one half-sister, Jeanie McInteer of Columbia; three brothers, Elvin, Arvin and James McInteer of Columbia; and five grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elizabeth Dwiggins; a brother, Leon McInteer; and one grandson.
