He was born in Tattnall County and lived in Evans County most of his life. He was a Primitive Baptist minister for 52 years and was retired from Georgia State Prison System as a peace officer.
SURVIVORS: a son, Byron Cribbs of Claxton; three daughters, Betty Moore of Guyton, Bobbie Jarriel of Milledgeville and Bootsie Threatte of Claxton; a brother, Elder Gilbert Cribbs of Bulloch County; two sisters, Eula Dukes of Glennville and Bertha Driggers of Savannah; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
