A Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Eddie Brashier presiding.
Mother proudly served her country during WWII by working in a defense plant in Bynum (Anniston), Al. When President Roosevelt issued a call for help in these plants, she and many others answered that call. She rode a unheated bus on unpaved roads from Margaret, Al., to Bynum. I was about 6 years of age and recall her coming home many nights in tears because her feet were so cold and hurting, but she persevered and was proud to do so. Recently I enrolled her in Rosie the Riveter Association. She would be proud of that. I am SO proud of her.
