Services for Sarah Marie Serio Shill, 95, of Philadelphia, formerly of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 23, 2009, in Philadelphia, will be 12 noon Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at St. Mary Basilica. Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home.

NATCHEZ - Services for Sarah Marie Serio Shill, 95, of Philadelphia, formerly of Natchez, who died May 23, 2009 in Philadelphia, were held Tuesday May 26, 2009, at 12 p.m. from St. Mary Basilica with Father David O'Connor officiating. Burial was in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shill was born Aug. 26, 1913, in Waterproof, La, the daughter of John J. and Kathryn E. Serio. She was a longtime member of the Catholic faith and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Walter Shill, Sr.; a daughter, Ellen Bailey; a son, Clay Shill; a brother, Frank Serio; and two sisters, Ann Campiere and Elizabeth Weeks.
Survivors include four sons, John Shill of Walterboro, S.C., Francis Shill of Merritt Island, Fla., Danny Shill of Power Springs, Ga. and Jimmy Shill of Prairieville, La., five daughters, Margaret Williamson of Mendenhall, Donna McCurley of Philadelphia, Barbara Graphia of Baton Rouge, La., Emily Seale of Baton Rouge, La. and Helen Lee of Savannah, Ga., one sister, Kathryn Jackson of Florence; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
