Robert Ilo Briggs of Mesick died May 16, 2009 in Cadillac. He was 81. He was born in Vicksburg, Michigan on October 13, 1927 and had been employed for 37 years at Allied Paper Company in Kalamazoo and retired in 1982 at which time he moved to Mesick.
He married the former Laura Marie Slack on October 2, 1948 and she survives along with children: Robert (Sharon) Briggs of Athens, MI, George Briggs of Comstock, MI, and Kristine (Dave) Bacon of Colon, MI; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Alice (Albert) Lappin of Florida. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis E. Briggs in March of 2007.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements were made by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
