Mrs. Amelia Hoffstetter-Neupert, 84 years old, died Friday morning, Dec. 2, 1927 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Ross of Perryville. Her death came after a lingering illness which had kept her bedfast for the last three years. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Ross residence to the Perryville Lutheran Church, thence to the Lutheran Cemetery for burial. Services were conducted by the Rev. A. M. Lohmann. Mrs. Neupert was born on Dec. 19, 1842, in Altenburg, Saxony Germany, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Friedrch Gruenewald. She came to this country when she was 10 years old, and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Uniontown. In 1861 she was married to Christian Hoffstetter and of the eight children born to them, three are living. They are ; Mrs. George Ross and Emanuel and Theodore Hoffstetter, all of Perryville. Mr. Hoffstetter died in 1885, she was married to Fredrick Neupert. After his death she came to Perryville and made her home with her children, having for the last four years lived with Mrs. George Ross. Beside her children Mrs. Neupert leaves one sister, twenty-two grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
