MARY LULA SKIPPER MILLER
ABBEVILLE. . .Mary Lula Skipper Miller, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday morning, May 22, 2009, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville. She was 69.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P. M. Saturday, May 23, 2009, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East with Wiregrass Hospice Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:15 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street, Dothan, AL. 36301.
Ms. Miller was born and raised in Abbeville where she lived most of her lifetime. She was formerly employed by the Eufaula Adolescent Center and the Harland Check Printing Company. Ms. Miller was a member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Will Saunders (Bill) Skipper and a brother, Jerry Saunders Skipper.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Audrey Lynn Snipes and Mary Louise Miller both of Abbeville; a son, David Franklin Snipes and wife, Tina Snipes, Summerville, S.C.; her mother, Audrey Trawick Saunders, Abbeville; six grandchildren, Abbie, Christian, Marissa, Victoria, Justice and Taylor; a niece, Jeri Skipper Grant and husband, Bob Grant, Headland; a great-niece and three great-nephews.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Richard Meadows, his nurse practitioner, Maggie, the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility, Wiregrass Hospice and also to neighbors and friends for the loving care and kindness shown to Ms. Miller during her illness.
