McColley as published in book "Pioneer Heritage: A McColley Family History", 1993, pg 422-423: "Arthur Britt Goodwin, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Elizabeth (Smith) Goodwin, was born June 29, 1868 at LaCrosse, Wis. His family moved from LaCrosse to Winnebago, Minn when he was three years old. Jessie Margaret McColley was born May 30, 1876 at Winnebago, Minn. She was the youngest daughter of Nathaniel and Frances (Freer) McColley and spent her childhood years on her parents' farm two miles east of Winnebago. Arthur and Jessie were married November 12, 1900 in Faribault County. They were the parents of three sons, Alvin, David, and Benjamin. Arthur Goodwin was a carpenter by trade and had great talents as an artist. They made their home on an acreage that was the northeast corner of her father's farm. Arthur Goodwin died June 23, 1912 at their home a short distance east of Winnebago. He had been in ill health for a number of years and death was caused by dropsey. On July 14, 1914, Jessie married William Gates in Faribault County. Her family disapproved of William and did not have a great deal to do with Jessie after her marriage. Jessie died suddenly in Winnebago from a stroke of apoplexy on April 26, 1918. Arthur and Jessie Goodwin are buried in the Riverside Cemetery near Winnebago. After their parents' deaths, the three Goodwin children lived with their grandparents, Nathaniel and Frances McColley ..."
