Uncle Jimmy, as I called him, was first and foremost a very Godly man. He was known for going around work and saying "I'm praying for you, boy!" to fellows he knew. He was a member of Forest City Foursquare Gospel Church.

Secondly, he was a very talented electrician by trade; having spent the most time as an electrician at local factories such as Reeves Brothers and Torrington. He spent time along the Ohio River in the 1980s, working on power plants up there. After his funeral, as we were headed out to the fellowship hall of his church to eat, his pastor told me that he'd done all the wiring in the building.

He served his country in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. Uncle Jimmy, we miss you.
