Leonard J. "Pete" Peterson, was a son of Leander and Hildena Quarstrom Peterson. He married G. Margorie Altshue on Aug. 18, 1946, in Bloomington. She passed away Feb. 23, 1996.
Survivors include niece and nephews, Bruce (Carolyn) Hurley, Danvers; Pam (Richard) Lamb, Rutherfordton, N.C.; and Greg Hurley, Heyworth; and brother-in-law, Glenn Hurley, Mackinaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter and one sister, Patricia Hurley.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
