The Bryan County native was born January 29, 1921 to Henry H. and Floy A. Davis.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Gladys Carter and brothers, Weitz Davis, Jesse Davis, and James Davis.
Mr. Davis was a U.S. Army veteran of World War ll.
He worked for Henry Ford, then retired after 27 years of service from International Paper.
He was of the Baptist faith having served as a church deacon for many years and as Sunday School superintendent.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, of 64 years, Florence Cribbs Davis, daughters, Shirley D. Hiers of Richmond Hill, Betty Sue Regalado of Roseville, Ca. and Carolyn D. Page of Guyton, and a special grandson, J. Kevin Davis, whom he loved dearly as if he were his own son and was especially close to, having raised him since birth, and other grandchildren, Timm Hiers, Susan Rodriguez, S. Michael Darieng and a step-grandson, Phil Page, Jr., great-grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, and Clay Davis, Kyle and Brandan Rodriguez and Jacob Darieng, sisters, Alice D. Futch of Hinesville, and Allene D. Butler of Richmond Hill, brothers, Sam C. Davis, Sr. of Richmond Hill, Hiram W. Davis of Dothan, Al., Henry H. Davis, Jr. of Houston, Tx. and Joseph D. Davis of Richland, Wa. and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sunday, July 8, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Richmond Hill Funeral Home.
Funeral Services were held Monday, July 9, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Cox Chapel.
Interment: Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery.
