Pioneer Resident Passes at Age of 93. Mrs. Sylvester (Mary Ann) Eley, 93, of 7436 S. Puget Sound Ave., died Friday in a local hospital. Born in Tennessee she came west in a covered wagon in 1884. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Effie M. Grunert of Tacoma and Mrs. Sinnie Etta Bernier of Chehalis, a son, Liffie, of Springfield, VT; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Eley (Elizabeth Webb Eley) of Tacoma, a brother Lee (Robert E Lee Webb) of Sprio, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, eight gr grandchildren, five gr gr grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday at 3PM in Piper's Chapel. The Rev. Robert G. Albertson will officiate. Burial will be in Tacoma Cemetery. The pallbearers, all grandsons, will be Walter, Arthur and Buddy Grunert, Art and Sylvester Norman and Frank McGrath.
