Mrs. J.A. Shelton, aged 57 years, wife of J.A. Shelton died at their home in Denton, Saturday, July 24 after an illness of several months of tuberculois. Funeral services were held on the lawn of their home by the pastor of the Methodist Church at Steele, and a large crowd was in attendance. Besides her husband, Mrs. Shelton leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Pearson of Denton and Mrs. Hazel Counter of Hayti and one son Bob Shelton of Denton to mourn her loss. Mrs. Bridgewood of this city attended the funeral services Sunday afternoon, after which interment was made in Coleman Cemetery.
