MRS. MELVINA E. CAVALIER

Mrs. Melvina E. Cavalier, 79, 1410 South Missouri, Sedalia, Mo., died at the Rest Haven Nursing Home at 3 a.m. Thursday, July 3.

Mrs. Cavalier was born in West Virginia, April 12, 1890, the daughter of the late Aaron and Fannie Corson Ashcraft.

One of a family of 11 children, she was preceded in death by one sister, Miss Lavorda Ashcraft, and seven brothers, Fred Ashcraft, Letch Ashcraft, Ira Ashcraft, Ward Ashcraft, Ellis Ashraft, Aaron J. Ashcraft and Vais Ashcraft.

She was married in West Virginia to Dr. J.P. Cavalier. They lived most of their married life at Cabool, Mo. Dr. Cavalier died Dec. 9, 1941.

She is survived by three sons, Paul and Sam C. Cavalier, 1410 South Missouri; John Cavalier 613 West Sixth; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Ingram, Grinnell, Ia., Mrs. Faye Ward, Palm Desert, Calif.; Mrs. Maxine Watson, 1614 West 14th; two sisters , Miss Laverna Ashcraft, Clarksburg, W.Va.; Mrs. Mabel Fleming, Wallace, W.Va.; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Marvin T. Noble, pastor of the new Hope Baptist Church. Officiating.

Burial will be in the Cabool Cemetery.
