Sebe Monroe and Mattie McKinley were married in March 1917 in Tecumseh by Todd Windham. Sebe was working on Tom Windham's ranch. They were living on Mr. Windham's farm. After they were married, they moved to the Creswell ranch and lived in different parts of the Oplin area until 1944 when they moved to Taylor county near Lawn.

Their son Clifford was killed in Italy during WWII in 1944.
