James Lawrence Adams, 73, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday in his home at 494 West Hill Street, following a heart attack. He had been in failing health several months.
A resident of the city most of his life, Mr. Adams was a former employee of the Wabash Cabinet Company and later was self-employed. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Mizpah Shrine, Fort Wayne.
Born June 22, 1886 in Wilson, Kan., he was the son of James D. and Mary M. (Hendy) Adams. He was married July 5, 1943 in Huntington to Martha Folk, who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters, J. Warren Adams, J. Howard Adams, Mrs. Ira M. Downey and Miss Mildred Adams, all of Wabash.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Jones Funeral home with the Rev. Wilbur Day officiating. Friends may call at the hunfer home beginning Thursday afternoon.
