Death of William Gunn.
The long illness of William Gunn ended in his painless death at 4 o'clock yesterday morning.
Mr. Gunn ws 62 years old. He was a native of Springfield, one of the two sons of Elisha Gunn who will be remembered by old citizens as a merchant on the Hill....
William went to Hartford when a young man and learned the business of store-keeping and trading in the large and well-known establishment of A. H. Pomeroy & Co. Returning to this city in 1845....
Mr. Gunn was married early in life to Miss Holman of Sherburn, N. Y., a niece of J. B. Ramrill and has lived for 25 years on Maple street....
Mrs. Gunn died seven years ago, and of their four children three are living, two daughters, Laura, the wife of W. F. Callender, and Helen, and one son, Robert.
The sad death by drowning of the older son, Arthur, last summer, will be remembered....
Mr. Gunn was a man of good business ability and had accumulated a large fortune.... (here follows more about his social and business activities.)
