Stephen E. Gahimer, 51, of Milroy, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at his residence.


Born July 27, 1955, he was the son of Haskell W. and Beulah F. (Rhoades) Gahimer, both deceased. He married Beverly Fussner Sept. 8, 1979; she survives.

Mr. Gahimer was a self-employed farmer and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Amber Dawn Gahimer (and finance Jeremy Effing) of Milroy; one son, Jason M. Gahimer (and girlfriend Jessica Quear) of Milroy; five sisters, Nancy (Mrs. Ronald) Messer of Lyneville, Marilyn (Mrs. Mike) Llewlyn of Indianapolis, Barbara (Mrs. Barry) Welch of Germantown, Ohio, Mary Beth (Mrs. Jim) Melton of Glenwood and Judy (Mrs. Greg) Wheeler of Fairfield, Ohio; and three brothers, Donald W. Gahimer (and wife Barbara) of Waldron, Ralph E. Gahimer (and wife Gloria) of Leesville, La., and Larry A. Gahimer (and wife Judy) of Arlington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville with Father William J. Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Milroy's East Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at Burns Funeral Home in Milroy with a Rosary service at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville.
