Daniel Bleekman, Sr., was stationed at Black Rock, in the county of Fairfield on or about the 15 day of Nov., 1780 took charge of the Battery at that place, and served there as an Ensign one month. "That during the first mountain enlistment , he was marched under General (Richard) Montgomery to St. Johns, from New York, was at the battle in taking St. John (British Fort) then marched to Ticonderoga with the British Prisoners and was there dismissed." " he was in the Battle at Danbury when General (David) Wooster was killed and the place burned by the British he then belonging to the Connecticut Militia men when Fairfield and Norwalk were burnt. He was chosen Ensign by the Voice of the company. He was in the Battle at Dansbury, Ensign Seeby was killed close by him."
Daniel Bleekman, Sr., died August 1, 1833, in Salisbury, New York according to his Revolutionary War pension papers.
