Daniel Bleekman, Sr., was born "In the town of Stratford in the State of Connecticut on the 26 day of June 1748."

" Was living in the town of Western in the state of Connecticut when called into service, has lived since the war about 10 years after the war in Western, and then came to Milton N. Y. has lived 30 years in Stratford, Montgomery Co. and now in Salisbury, Herkimer County."

"He generally volunteered, was sometime drafted, but served as a substitute two months for on Sherwood -- does not know the captains name"

Served Continental and Militia regiments under" General Montgomery, General Wooster, Col Watersbury, Col. Whiting, Capt. Read, Capt. Wakeman, Capt Thorp."
Daniel Bleekman, Sr., was stationed at Black Rock, in the county of Fairfield on or about the 15 day of Nov., 1780 took charge of the Battery at that place, and served there as an Ensign one month. "That during the first mountain enlistment , he was marched under General (Richard) Montgomery to St. Johns, from New York, was at the battle in taking St. John (British Fort) then marched to Ticonderoga with the British Prisoners and was there dismissed." " he was in the Battle at Danbury when General (David) Wooster was killed and the place burned by the British he then belonging to the Connecticut Militia men when Fairfield and Norwalk were burnt. He was chosen Ensign by the Voice of the company. He was in the Battle at Dansbury, Ensign Seeby was killed close by him."
Daniel Bleekman, Sr., died August 1, 1833, in Salisbury, New York according to his Revolutionary War pension papers.
