A funeral for Larry Lee Gray of Grand Ronde was to be held at 2 p.m. today in Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joel Boyce officiating. Interment was to be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mr. Gray died of cancer, related to asbestos exposure while working in shipyards, on Sept. 23, 1999, in St. Vincent Hospital, Portland. He was 65.

Born March 24, 1934, in Toledo, he also was educated in Toledo. He later attended welding school in Seattle and carpentry school in Corvallis. He served in the Army in the Korean conflict.

He and Louise were married Oct. 12, 1959, in Vancouver, Wash.

He worked for 30 years in new construction and repair in shipyards and boatyards in Oregon and Washington. He liked to fish, hunt, garden and spend time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald Gray and Steven Gray of Grand Ronde and Richard Gray of Willamina; a daughter, Lorna Gray of Sheridan; a sister, Shara Mooney of Seattle; a stepmother, Gertrude Gray of Sea-tac, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren.
