Toy Adams Cook died Friday, April 28, 2000, at her home in Tupelo. She was born September 28, 1916, in Union County, Mississippi, to William Albert Adams and Eunice Hill Adams. For most of her married life she lived in Nettleton, where she was the owner of Toy's Beauty Shop for 20 years. She moved to Tupelo in 1991. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of Nettleton First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, football games and her Nettleton Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, J. O. Cook.

Services were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 30, 2000, in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Bryant Barnes officiating. Entombment was in the Lee Memorial Mausoleum.

Survivors were one daughter, Julia "Judy" Cook Pryor of Tupelo; two grandson, Brad Riley and Chris Riley of Tupelo, Three great grandchildren, Emme Riley, Addison Riley and Andrew Riley, one sister, Lillie Mae Reynolds of Nettleton; one brother, Edward Childers of Temple, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and a brother.

Pallbearers were Larry Coggin, Mitchell Moore, John A. Mason, Heywood Washburn, Clyde Whitaker and Dr. James Shirley.
