Bud, as people knew him, farmed most of his life and worked for the Indiana State Highway Department as an Inspector during the construction of I-65 and then was employed during the years of 1964 until retiring in 1981 by the former Amoco Chemical now known as Silgan. He served as the Marion Township Trustee in the 1960's and was a founding member of the Marion Township Community Center where he served on the board for several years. He was a 1934 Marion High School graduate, a United States Army Veteran, enlisting on September 11, 1942 and being honorably discharged on December 9, 1945. During his enlistment he was honored with an Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars; Philippine Liberation with 2 Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Ribbon; and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was a lifetime member of the Seymour VFW Post # 1925, the Seymour American Legion in Post # 89, a collector of various items, a ham (amateur) radio operator, loved all kinds of animals which he thought of as pets, enjoyed attending auctions, Nascar, & mowing in all the different seasons. Enjoyed visits and receiving communion from Pastor Marling of the United Christian Church.

Born October 26, 1917 in Paris Crossing, Indiana he was the son of Clarence and Maude (Faulkner) Deputy who are both deceased.

On April 12, 1947 he married Mae Dell (Strode) Deputy who survives in Commiskey, Indiana.

Other survivors include, two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
A sister, Lois Borders, preceded him in death.
