Funeral Services for S. T. Allen Are Held Today -- Staley T Allen, 79, passed away Sunday afternoon at his home on Route 2 Opelika following and illness of several months.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. today from Pierce Chapel Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Charles Pittman officiated and pallbearers were Oliver DeLoach, Leslie Kenney, Heflin Knight, Daniel Lott, Lloyd Bush and Rodrick Haynes.
Mr. Allen, a native of Tennessee, had resided in Lee County for the past 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Sue Allen; four daughters, Mrs. Clifford Duke of Phenix City, Mrs. E. T. Moon of Columbus, Mrs. Corbin Cope of Kelso, Tenn. and Mrs. L. F. McBride of Port Hueneme, Calif.; three sons, Fred Allen of Opelika, Elmer and Richard Allen, both of Phenix City.
Frederick's was in charge of arrangements.
