Clement J. "Bud" Bachofer was born November 11, 1910, to Joseph and Jennie Bachofer at the family farm near Mentor. Bud farmed near Mentor and operated a garage in town for several years.

Mr. Bachofer died December 6, 1974, at his home in Mentor. He was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the American Legion, and a life member of the VFW.

Survivors included a brother, W. A. "Bill" Bachofer; five sisters, Mrs. Pauline Manns, Mrs Jane Manns, Mrs. Rosemary Burghart, Mrs. Mary Boal, and Mrs. Loretta Karber.
