MALAD MAN DIES OF GUNSHOT
Malad - Richard Lesly Mulder, 22, Malad, died Sunday at Tooele, Utah, of a gunshot wound.
Police said the wound was accidental. They said it was determined that Mulder was handling a small caliber pistol while driving his car and it discharged, striking him.
Mulder had been working for a construction outfit near Grantsville, Utah, since March of this year.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served with the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958.
He was born May 7, 1938 at Malad to John W. and Velda Joan Parrish Mulder. He was educated in Malad and completed his high school education in the Army.
Survivors include his parents, Malad; a grandfather, J. H. Parrish, Downey, a brother, Victor Mulder, Ogden, Utah, and sisters Sherry Mulder, Salt Lake City, and Margaret Mulder, Malad.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Malad Third LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Hubert Gleed officiating. Burial will be in the Malad city cemetery under direction of Benson Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday night and Wednesday prior to services.
