Nora married first Elbert (Albert in findagrave)Green Morelock. Four children: Howard Dean Morelock, Elbert Gordon Morelock, Freeman Lloyd Morelock, Luther John "Bus" Morelock. Two children by her second husband, Rufus Plasencia: Ralph Alexander Plasencia and Sevinna Linda Plasencia. Nora was my grandmother.
NOTES ON BIRTH YEAR: Her delayed birth certificate originally indicated a birth year of 1892, but someone (curiously) crossed it out and replaced it with 1895. Her mother, who completed the affidavit, was 67 years old at the time of the affidavit and may have been confused or perhaps Nora wanted to appear younger and changed it. Her birth year in the 1900 Census is recorded as 1892. Her marriage license application in Aug 1913 indicated that she would be 21 at her next birthday which is consistent with an 1892 birth year. Her death certificate (informant was her oldest son, Freeman) gives her birth year as 1892. Her tombstone was purchased several years after her death, which could explain the error in her birth year on the stone. I’m not sure who provided the information to the stonemason.
