http://www.footnote.com/image/#223750971 shows Report of deaths of prisoners of war for the month of March 1863. Disease Pneumonia date of death March 13th. Camp Douglas Illinois.

ANOTHER PIECE OF HISTORY:
David S. Ainsworth, along with his two younger brothers were all in the Civil War. The younger brothers were twins; Alfred B. (A.B.), and Elbert G. (E.G.). They enlisted together at Hutchison's Mill, Ark. in 1862 in Co. "C", 24th Ark Inf Regt.

Elbert G. was captured at Arkansas Post on 11 Jan 1863 and died of pneumonia a few months later. Somehow the names got mixed up when they were listed on the bronze plates that surround the Confederate Mound Monument.

Alfred B. Ainsworth lived to be 73 years old (died 1911), and is buried in the Marysville Cemetery in Union Co., Arkansas. Someone has already submitted a memorial for him on Find a Grave. Also, there is a photo of his gravestone.

On the internet is a roster for the 24th Ark Regt and names of those in Company A thru G., and it tells of those men who where captured at Arkansas Post, and where they were sent, etc.

So with all that, instead of confusing future generations on a little bit of family history (and it started when they got the names wrong on the bronze plates).
