Captolia N. Lottier, 104, formerly of Pulaski, departed this life on Sunday, March 5, 2000 at the Heritage Nursing Home in Blacksburg, VA of natural causes. She was born September 5, 1895 in Pulaski, VA, the daughter of the late Alec & Mary Newman. "Cappie" as she was so affectionately known, was the oldest member of the First Baptist Church, Magazine St., Pulaski. She was also the oldest resident at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home where she had been a resident for twenty-five years. She was one of the first students at the Calfee Training School upon its opening. She was preceded in death by a twin sister, Leola; one brother, Norman; her husband, Frederick A. Lottier, Sr.; two sons, James A. and Frederick, Jr. She leaves to cherish and rejoice in her memory a loving and devoted son, Raymond Lottier of Federal Way, WA; two grandsons, Ashley D. (Dee) Lottier of Birmingham, AL and Joe Lottier of Pulaski; five granddaughters, Pat, Captolia, Estelle, Carol and Jenifer; other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 9, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Magazine Street, Pulaski with Dr. Anthony Daniels officiating. Burial will be at the Pinehurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Penn's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
