Mrs. Ida Mae Abbott

Mrs. Ida Mae Abbott, of Parkview Nursing Home, died Wednesday morning at L.P. McCuistion Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Steele and Thomas Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Taylortown. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Abbott was born, May 13, 1895, near Galveston, a daughter of Ed and Susie Speers Goforth. She married Jesse Abbott Aug. 27, 1914; he preceded her in death in 1950. Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Union Church in Taylortown.

Survivors include four sons, Bill Abbott, W. R. Abbott and Melvin Abbott, all of Paris and F. E. Abbott of Fort Worth; six daughters, Flossie Hood of Houston, Viola Scott of Tyler, Jessie Lee Allen of Deport, Margie Erwin of Galveston, and Donna Archer and Cathelene Malone, both of Paris; four brothers, Paul Goforth of Arkansas, John Goforth of Grand Prairie and Newte Goforth and Ray Goforth, both of Cooper; a sister, Cora Bell Pierce of Grand Prairie; 29 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
