John Verhovnik, 65, of 194 View Ave., Strabane, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 1967 in Canonsburg General Hospital.

Mr. Verhovnik was born Dec. 25, 1901 at Boston, Pa., a son of Michael and Mary Males Verhovnik. He had resided in the area since 1911 and was a former employee of Abex Corp., Houston.

He was a member of SNPJ Lodge 138, Strabane; Loyal Order of Moose 127, Canonsburg; and Pensioners Club, Strabane.

Surviving are his wife, Johanna Podboy Verhovnik; one daughter, Johanna, wife of William Pavcic, Canonsburg; one son, John, Upper Saddle River, N.J.; one sister, Mrs. Frances Petro, Strabane; one brother, Michael, Miami, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. Four sisters and three brothers are deceased.

Friends of John Verhovnik, 194 View Ave., Strabane, who died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 1967, will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the John F. Yoney Funeral Home, Canonsburg, where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. Burial in Oak Spring Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
