MRS. RUMELY DEAD AT 86

Hospital Auxiliary Member Succumbs In San Pierre

LAPORTE - Mrs. Hannah B. Rumely, 86, formerly of 1410 In diana Ave., died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Little Company of Mary Health Facility, San Pierre. She had been in failing health for two years. Born in Fort Wayne on Feb. 5, 1884, she came here in 1909 from Chicago. She was married to A.J. Rumely Sr., the founder of the LaPorte Foundry, who died Sept. 5. 1963. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Family Hospital and LaPorte Hospital Auxiliaries for 62 years and the St. Joseph's Rosary Society. Surviving are two sons, A.J. Jr. of LaPorte and Robert B. of New York City; a daughter, Mrs. Herman Terzino of LaPorte; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Clement Berghoff of Wilmette, Ill. and a sister, Mrs. Edward Kenny of Park Ridge, Ill. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Msgr. John C. Witte officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Cutler Bros. Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to LaPorte Hospital, Inc.
