Dublin - Miss Jessie F. Akers, 83, of Maple Street, died yesterday morning in the Draper Valley Nursing home following an extended illness. A native of Dublin and a member of the Dublin Methodist Church, she was a retired school teacher who taught in Pulaski County schools for 30 years. Miss Akers was born in Pulaski County March 13, 1880, the daughter of the later Fletcher Akers and Martha Scott Akers. She is survived by nieces and nephews including Maurice C. Vaughan of Dublin and Mason A. Vaughan of Pulaski. Services will be held today at 3pm from the Dublin Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan B. Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Newbern Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Donald McCloud, Roland Gunn, Charlie Duncan, Walter Duncan, Donald Vaughan and George Farris. The body will remain at Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral home until one hour before services when it will be taken to the church.
