Virginia M. Anderson entered eternity in Heaven surrounded by her family on May 13, 2009 at the Mercy Hospice House in Johnston, Iowa.
Virginia was born in January 27, 1925 in Gray, Iowa to Elmer and Florence Jensen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Burial in the Steffenville Cemetery, Steffenville, Mo. Visitation from 9-11:00 a.m. Monday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Virginia served in the military where she met and married her husband Junior Anderson on November 2, 1946. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the Philadelphia, Missouri area before moving to Iowa four years ago to live with her daughter.
Virginia loved gardening, music, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church.
She will be missed by her children, Gloria (Richard) Dayton of Urbandale, Iowa; James (Kim) Anderson of Cameron, Missouri; Patti (Mike) Craighead of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Dennis (John) Anderson of Boston, Massachusetts: Her brothers Dean (Shirley) Jensen; Larry (Ruth) Jensen; sisters-in-law Elaine (late Junior) Jensen; Doris (Marion) Ryan; Arlene (late Clarence) Walker and other family and friends. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Paul (Heather) Dayton; Krista (Matt) Otto; Josh (Dana) Craighead; Jeremy (Kris) Craighead; Renee Anderson; Joel Craighead and seven great grandchildren with the eighth due in July.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years and her brothers Kenny and Junior Jensen.
