Niece of Samuel L. and Mary E. "Mamie" ALBRIGHT Stewart with whom Mrs. Snook resided with and reared by during her younger years.
Esther married Joseph Fern SNOOK September 2, 1922. The Snooks resided on North Main Street in Yeagertown. Members of the Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Yeagertown.
Mrs. Snook was an accomplished dressmaker. To her nieces, Aunt Esther was thoughtful, kind and generous. Aunt Esther made sure her niece wore a beautiful dress to her junior prom. Her niece, Mary Snook never forgot how pretty she felt wearing a delicately fashioned white crepe dress.
On any given visit to the Snook home, a child was warmly and cheerfully greeted. In the kitchen of their home, was a marvelous chest of drawers. It was filled with wonderful things and toys such as brightly colored rubber balls, paper dolls, even ones with seemingly 'real' hair, beautiful paper parasols, marbles and other such fascinating toys. Aunt Esther truly made you feel special!
At the time of her death, Mrs. Snook was survived by her son Joseph M. Snook, two grandsons and two sisters: Emily Dunmire and Mrs. Helen Kockenderfer, both of Altoona, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.
